Yokohama. Post Compass. - Nissan Motor Co. agreed to take over the shares of Mitsubishi Motors Corp. amounted to 34 percent with a value of 2.2 billion u.s. dollars following the scandal that hit Mitsubishi.

The deal represents a hope for Mitsubishi Motors that mired the third scandal in two decades. But the deal also has to be the impetus for Nissan.

Nissan, Japan's number two car manufacturers fight creating breakthroughs in Asia especially outside China, particularly in countries such as Thailand and the Philippines in which Mitsubishi is more popular.

In a deal that took place today, Thursday (12/5) the two companies say will help Mitsubishi "regaining trust", Mitsubishi Motors will issue new shares to Nissan with 5.3 per cent discount at the close Wednesday

This means that Mitsubishi gives Nissan a third more than the group or simply to control under the rule of Japan share ownership.

Nissan's Chief Executive, Carlos Ghosn, said the two parties will share and jointly develop technology and could embody the "billions" synergies with coordinate purchasing, utilization of factory and cooperate in the growth of the market.

"We believe this will be a solution that benefits both. We believe can help, support and grow together, better than if Mitsubishi did this himself, "Ghosn said at a press conference in Yokohama, reported by Reuters, from Thursday.

Ghosn said Nissan will nominate three representatives to occupy the ranks of executives of Mitsubishi Motors.

Mitsubishi has acknowledged in the past month has been manipulating the fuel tests on four models, one of which mini car sold in Japan and includes two cars that will be sold under the Nissan logo.

The scandal that made Mitsubishi slumped and lost profits as investors worried over the cost of compensation would arise in the future.
